Assistant Accountant Highveld Techno Park, Centurion, Gauteng Salary: Negotiable, up to R20,000 p/m The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing transactions, performing reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records, while assisting with various ad-hoc finance tasks as required. Key Responsibilities Accounting: Process general ledger entries, bank transactions, and reconciliations Capture supplier and sales invoices, maintain customer and supplier accounts Post monthly journals (salaries, depreciation, reallocations) Assist with intercompany reconciliations (advantageous) Prepare management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations Liaise with clients to confirm and gather documentation Compile basic annual financial statements for SMEs (advantageous) Statutory Compliance: Perform VAT reconciliations and VAT201 submissions Assist with VAT audits (advantageous) Submit EMP201 returns via SARS eFiling Handle basic SARS correspondence Assist with Provisional Tax and Income Tax Returns (advantageous) Register companies at the Department of Labour for UIF and WCA (advantageous) Minimum Requirements Matric (National Senior Certificate) Accounting Diploma / BCom Accounting Degree (advantageous) SAIPA Articles (advantageous) 3 years bookkeeping/accounting experience Strong numeracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in MS Office (Excel intermediate level) Experience with Sage accounting software (essential), CaseWare (advantageous) Personal Attributes Strong administrative and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Professional telephone and email etiquette Eagerness to learn and grow within the finance profession

Experience in a similar working environment, an advantage Clear criminal record Role & Responsibilities Capturing cash book and credit card statements on SAGE of all bank accounts and reporting balances to management every morning; Ensuring all sales invoicing has been vetted and checked before updating each morning; Debtor management i.e follow up with debtors clerk on outstanding payments and any queries; Inputting stock movements on IBT and packing on Sage system Month End Process Vat reconciliation and submit to FM for processing; Vetting all deliveries have been invoiced from delivery books for each warehouse; Bank reconciliation on Pastel partner month end; Petty cash capturing and reconciliation; Tracking of admin sick, annual leave and family responsibility leave days; Vetting customer month end statements to be sent out; Vetting supplier recons balances to system; Inventory Variance reporting (Mid and Month End) Ensuring all general ledger accounts have been reconciled including intercompany for FM to finalise month end closure.
