The Role
The Assistant Financial Manager / Financial Controller will support the Financial Manager in overseeing the financial operations of Hilton Kinshasa. This role will focus on ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with brand and local standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing all aspects of the hotels financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.

Oversee daily finance functions such as accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and Hilton/Valor financial policies.

Work closely with department managers to monitor costs, identify efficiencies, and enhance profitability.

Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and ownership.

Assist in coordinating audits, liaising with external auditors and local authorities.

Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.

Mentor and support finance team members to ensure accurate, timely reporting and smooth operations.

Provide financial insights to assist senior management in business planning and performance improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
-
Minimum 35 years proven experience in a finance leadership role within an internationally branded hotel of 100 rooms or more.

Strong knowledge of hospitality finance and accounting practices.

Proficiency in SUN accounting software, Opera PMS, and Micros Materials Control is essential.

Previous experience working in Africa will be highly regarded.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.

Bachelors degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management.
Contract & Benefits

Contract: 1 year, renewable for a second year.

Package: Net US Dollars, market-related (details shared during shortlist stage).

Benefits include: furnished apartment accommodation, meals on duty, medical aid, uniform laundry, transport to/from work, and one annual flight home.
