A recent professional profile photo is to accompany your application EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent SECTOR : Procurement / Supply Chain BASIC SALARY : R25 000 R30 000 START DATE : A.S.A.P / Immediate REQUIREMENTS: National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field 3-5 years experience as a Buyer in the property development, construction, or building materials sector Must reside in the Northern Suburbs Own transport and valid drivers license (essential) Fully bilingual Strong reporting skills using Excel Experience with Pastel/BuildSmart Strong knowledge of building materials, finishes, and suppliers within the Western Cape Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., BuildSmart, Candy, or similar) DUTIES: Source and evaluate suppliers, materials, and subcontractors. Request, compare, and negotiate quotes to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards. Prepare purchase recommendations and obtain approvals in accordance with procurement policies. Monitor supplier performance and maintain an up-to-date supplier database Coordinate with the Site Manager to forecast material needs. Ensure compliance with budget limits and project timelines. Approve purchase orders within delegated authority limits. Resolve supply issues, backorders, or discrepancies efficiently. Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with reporting. Collaborate closely with the Ordering Clerk to ensure approved purchase orders are processed, tracked, and delivered on time. HOURS: Monday to Friday: 08:00 17:00 but will be expected to take calls after hours.

Requirements: Education: Relevant qualification or diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement / Purchasing (advantageous). Experience: 35 years proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role. Computer Skills: Proficient in SAGE Evolution and Microsoft Excel. Location: Preferably residing in or near the Meyerton/Vereeniging area. Key Responsibilities: Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services required for operations. Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines to achieve best value. Create and manage accurate purchase orders in line with company standards. Monitor stock levels and forecast procurement needs to prevent shortages. Ensure accuracy and compliance in all procurement documentation. Resolve supplier or delivery issues promptly to avoid operational delays. Prepare and maintain purchasing reports using Excel and SAGE Evolution. Skills and Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
