Job Summary

Job Description: We are looking for a dynamic Buyer to join our team in Cape Town. If you have a keen eye for procurement and supplier management, this is your opportunity to make an impact! Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Procurement: Identify potential suppliers through research and networking Obtain and compare price quotations, terms, and product/service quality Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favourable agreements Place orders and ensure timely delivery of goods/services Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers Evaluate supplier performance, quality, and reliability Resolve supplier issues regarding delivery, quality, or pricing Monitor market conditions and supplier capabilities for opportunities Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and anticipate demand to avoid stockouts/overstocks Work with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize stock levels Implement strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Conduct cost analysis and budget forecasting with management Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budget constraints Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and standards Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations Imports: Coordinate import activities and ensure customs compliance Obtain necessary permits and documentation for international shipments Manage import/export duties, taxes, and fees efficiently Receiving and Inspection: Oversee receiving processes and inspect goods for compliance Document and resolve discrepancies or damages with suppliers Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to resolve receiving issues Staff Management: Manage daily operations to ensure smooth stock control and warehouse function Ensure workplace discipline and adherence to SOPs Train staff on relevant procedures Application Process:

Job Summary

Requirments: Diploma / Degree – in Procurement / Packaging At least 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably including packaging Must be computer literate in Excel, Word, and email Preferably have sound knowledge of JDE or an equivalent program Responsibilities: Manage your portfolio through effective strategy input and excellent execution, which will drive the total cost approach in addressing costs. Factor in leveraging, spend consolidation, or new sources where appropriate. Portfolio stock management will also be vital in achieving an effective portfolio, will be managed through your effective processes put in place. Non-conformance resolution on any quality or supplier concerns will also feature on your agenda. Cross functional collaboration is vital to this role and your ability to communicate across many varying roles will be required to be successful in this role. Supplier: Institute and maintain appropriate supplier relationships and associated replenishment processes that will satisfy the demands of manufacturing requirements to convert raw materials into finished goods, ensuring sustainable supply. Source local & international will be required, implement and manage new suppliers, innovation and substitute products to ensure continuity of supply, therefore exploring the opportunities to improve overall profitability by achieving increased value for money, ensuring appropriate quality standards, and securing access to product differentiation opportunities Pricing and supply chain evaluation Strong negotiation ability covering pricing, MOQ, and terms. Processes: Supplier and Product set up in JDE Inputs into costing and marketing Monthly forecasting, internal and to suppliers, on your portfolio, including all associated Excel documents. Pricing & Inventory Analyze local and global trends so as to minimize the risk and exposure to the business in order to prevent unplanned price changes and out of stocks, as well as capitalize on opportunities presented by the market to increase profitability Establish and manage inventory and replenishment policies and processes ensuring realistic financial exposure in order to optimize inventory levels and costs, working in conjunction with Manufacturing planning, Finance and Logistics and Marketing. Obsolete and discontinued raw materials are reported and followed up on a monthly basis targeting ZERO write offs Skills & Competencies: Attention to detail Understanding processes Be able to perform under pressure Have a constructive attitude Resourcefulness Have good communication skills and must be proficient in English Ability to follow and implement required processes Interpersonal and cross functional ability Must be Computer Literate Ability to develop and maintain excel spreadsheets Ability to use Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint for effective communications
