Safari JOBS is recruiting for an experienced Camp / Lodge Manager with sound business acumen to take ownership of the management and coordination of a busy, prestigious safari camp, overseeing both guests and staff within a high-standard, high-expectation environment. This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role requiring daily, frequent communication with senior management, the ability to connect all departments in a cohesive and efficient manner, and confident, visible guest interaction and management. The successful incumbent will be a strong people leader with the maturity to manage staff and support human resource processes in consultation with the HR Manager, while remaining highly organised with daily administration, task allocation, and operational follow-through. Solid budgeting and financial management capability is essential, along with proven experience leading Heads of Department, managing projects, handling emergencies and crisis situations with calm authority, and maintaining strong business partnerships that support the overall success of the operation. ??????? ???????????? ??? ???????????? Clear criminal record; Excellent employment track record references will be verified; Excellent English fluency & literacy; Matric / Grade 12 certificate; Tourism & Hospitality and/or Hospitality Management qualification; First Aid level 1; 3 – 5 years 5* Safari Camp/Lodge management experience is essential; 2 – 3 years experience in Food & Beverage is essential; Valid drivers licence and PrDP; Computer literacy level: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, internet and stock control systems; Physically fit, sober habits and in good health ??????????/???????????? ?????? Strong leadership, managerial, organisational, and decision-making skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Demonstrate attention to detail and be guest-and service oriented; Be a hard-working, problem-solving multi-tasker; Able to work independently and practice effective time management; Be a proactive, positive team player; Be energetic and enthusiastic; Strong work ethic, ability to work long and flexible hours; An empathetic appreciation of the needs of all guests; Thorough familiarity of vehicles & buildings maintenance, human resource management, customer-service excellence; Demonstrate sound crisis and emergency management; Excellent guest and staff conflict management; Be courteous, well presented, punctual and professional at all times. ??? ???????????????? Oversee and co-ordinate the daily operations of the camp. Connect; unify and integrate all individual departments at each camp in order to deliver on the product defined by the company. Maintain a constantly open and effective communication channel with all staff. Communicate frequently and efficiently the tasks and responsibilities of all staff and heads of department. Communicate and offer feedback to upper management regarding daily operations, guest and staff issues, maintenance issues, and any on-going projects. Communicate important guest and trade partners information to the relevant senior staff efficiently. Monitor the running, systems and controls of all departments. Constantly strive to improve the efficiency of all systems on the reserve using innovate new measures. Frequently conduct walk-arounds and spot-checks on all aspects of the operation and departments in order to ensure their efficient running. Punctually prepare all required administration. Assume the role of security for all staff and guests. Manage crises and emergencies e.g. fire and medical issues ensuring the safety of all people on the reserve and the brand is protected. Manage and co-ordinate disciplinary action of all staff when required. Ensure all staff are guest oriented. Ensure training of staff is conducted and recorded as per the SOPs of the reserve. Ensure all staff attend any training workshops as per requirements. Enforce accurate time-keeping, appropriate, professional and clean presentation of all staff at all times. Ensure all staff are well informed and familiar with the modus operandi of the camp, the company and encourage a knowledge of world happenings and current affairs. Manage any staff queries and issues effectively in a professional, problem-solving manner. Manage and oversee the work conduct and ethics of all staff, taking corrective action where necessary and informing upper management. Constantly inspire, encourage and motivate all staff to improve guests experience. Ensure all guests experience a personalized experience that either meets or exceeds their expectations. Meet and actively engage with all guests to the level that is required. Constantly strive for new innovative ideas on delivering a world class hospitality experience. Take immediate action in remedying guest complaints by bringing these complaints to the attention of staff and upper management, and ensure these problems do not occur in the future. Efficiently manage and find solutions through consultation with staff and/or guests alike in times of conflict. Manage all budgets in a sound manner with the intention to always save money and spend reasonably. Maintain a healthy working relationship with all other Reserve camps. Maintain and cultivate sound, good relationships with all neighbouring reserves, operators and suppliers. Be familiar with, enforce and implement all the policies and procedures of the Reserve. Embody an open-minded outlook on continuous improvements, training and be feedback-fit. Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards are met. Lead by example, maintain a positive work attitude and cultivate an encouraging, supportive working environment for all staff. Ensure all keys and sensitive, confidential information in your responsibility is maintained in this light. Ensure all SOPs at the Reserve are efficiently maintained. Follow and uphold the Reserve Disciplinary Code of Conduct at all times ensuring prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations. ???????????? / ??????? / ???? ????? CTC remuneration of approx. R28, 000.00 NEG. DOE and qualifications Gratuities Either directly from guests / share in split gratuities equally among staff, excluding guides; Accommodation provided; Utilities including water, electricity, Wi-Fi; 3 meals per day; Uniform; Company medical aid and pension fund contribution*; Full Risk cover by the company (No cost to the employee): Lump sum Disability, Funeral & death benefit of 2x annual salary*; Free parking; Bednights; Visitors are allowed per cycle, at a cost; Staff gym facility at a nominal monthly fee; Staff shop selling basic groceries, alcohol etc; Staff TV room with a pool table; Any 13th cheque / bonuses etc. are based upon performance and at the discretion of the company. **Applicable after three months of successful employment.
