About the Role
We are seeking a highly passionate and ambitious young chef to join our award-winning fine dining restaurant in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences that showcase your creativity and skill. With a focus on trend-setting cuisine and pairing it with our award-winning local wines, we are looking for someone who is not only passionate about food but also dedicated to their craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes using advanced production methods and techniques
- Create weekly changing tapas/amuse bouche for wine tasting guests
- Host guests at the wine tasting entrance to support sommeliers’ wine pairings
- Collaborate with the head chef to rotate through the brigade and gain experience in all culinary disciplines
- Maintain a positive attitude and display enthusiasm for your cooking career and goals
Requirements
- Recognised 1 or 2 years FULL-TIME Cheffing Qualification
- Minimum 3 year experience within a strict fine dining team
- Ability to engineer and create weekly changing tapas/amuse bouche for wine tasting guests
- Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills
- Passionate about food, with a strong foundation in culinary basics
