Roles and Responsibilities Director of Finance (Business Unit) Location: UK/Ireland (Remote) Reports Into: CEO/Business Unit Leader Company Overview: Acquires, strengthens and grows communications & media software companies. Position Summary: The Director of Finance oversees all financial aspects of the BU and drives the companys financial strategies in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team. As a key business partner to the CEO/Business Unit Leader, the role holder is accountable for BUs forecast, financial operations, as well as compliance with statutory requirements. You are a strategic thinker with a strong commercial and financial acumen. You will be expected to collaborate positively, have a passion to succeed and be prepared to take smart risks. Main Responsibility Areas: Business Partnering: Own the Quarterly Strategic Review (QSR) forecasting process and ensure forecast accuracy is within /-5%. Provide financial and management reporting and analysis of the BU performance, with a focus on key operating ratios, ensuring commentaries are succinct and insightful. Present the results as required. Identify issues and propose opportunities for operational improvements. Monitor the execution of improvement plans arising. Work closely with all functional leads to ensure project bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate policies. Coordinate all legal activities internally and with group legal. Finance Operations: Ensure accurate and timely submission of all monthly, quarterly and ad hoc submissions, as required Oversee financial operations including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, treasury, financial statement close and related controls, as well as compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements. Implement process and system improvements to allow for timely and accurate financial statement close. Responsible for addressing internal and external audit queries. People Leadership & Other Lead and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of learning, trust, and self-improvement. Drive succession planning and talent management processes. Attend management meetings, annual events, and other activities directed by the BU Leader. Any other duties as required. Key Skills & Competencies: Accounting Qualification (CPA). Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15/ASC606. Hands-on mindset; comfortable preparing and reviewing reconciliations, posting journals, and preparing working papers. Advanced Excel skills required, and in addition experience in NetSuite, SAP BPC, Blackline, Salesforce, Cloudcoach (project tracking), would be an advantage. Proven ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and stay highly organized without requiring follow-up. Comfortable creating and delivering presentations on performance. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Background Requirements: 5 years post-qualification experience, with Big 4 experience preferred. Software and/or telco industry experience an asset. Experience of multiple entities / countries / currencies an advantage. Eligibility Requirements Willingness to travel 10% of the time, both locally and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
