About the Role
We are seeking a commercially astute and strategic Director of Sales & Marketing to join an internationally branded hotel in Benin, French-speaking region. The successful candidate will lead the hotel’s full commercial function, driving market positioning, revenue growth, brand visibility, and segment penetration from pre-opening through to stabilised operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the full pre-opening commercial and go-to-market strategy
- Build and grow corporate, government, diplomatic, leisure, and regional segments
- Establish pricing strategy, segmentation, and revenue optimisation in collaboration with Revenue Management
- Lead digital marketing, brand positioning, PR strategy, and key partnerships
- Drive MICE and group business across meetings and events facilities
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team
- Deliver revenue targets across all revenue streams
Requirements
- 5–8 years’ senior commercial leadership experience within international branded hotels
- Proven pre-opening experience (West African exposure advantageous)
- Strong regional corporate, diplomatic, and travel trade network
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation capability
- Fluent in both French and English
