Sous Chef Location: Timbavati Property Type: Luxury Safari Camp Salary: Negotiable DOE | Live-in | Lunch and Dinner Included Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a luxury safari camp in Timbavati for a talented and passionate Sous Chef. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to work in a high-end bush environment, delivering exceptional dining experiences to discerning guests. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene are consistently maintained. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations • Prepare and present high-quality meals in line with lodge standards • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste and presentation • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times • Oversee stock control, ordering and minimising wastage • Assist with menu planning and creative input for new dishes • Supervise and support junior kitchen staff • Ensure all dietary requirements are catered for professionally and accurately • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment • Step into the role of Head Chef when required Requirements • Formal culinary qualification • Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel or safari environment • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices • Ability to work well under pressure in a remote environment • Excellent organisational and time management skills • Strong leadership and team support skills • Creative flair with attention to detail in presentation • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Personal Attributes • Passion for fine dining and guest satisfaction • Positive and proactive attitude • Strong work ethic and reliability • Ability to adapt to a bush environment • Calm and professional demeanour This live-in position offers a competitive salary dependent on experience, with lunch and dinner provided.
