About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Storeman with a background in chemicals distribution to join our team at the Distribution Centre in Boksburg North. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate management of our inventory, as well as maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling ILT’s received from branches (ensuring FIFO)
• Actively use and interact with the DDMRP system, using this as a primary tool to run the facility
• Manage all warehouse activities related to stock put away and stock picking – ensuring that FIFO stock rotation principals are adhered to and picking is completed efficiently and accurately
• Process accurately and timeously all transfer documentation into and out of the DC, ensuring that the processing matches the physical stock moved
• Manage document flow, filing systems and work process – ensuring that all admin is completed to the company standards and according to works instructions
• Efficiently report and rectify any shipment discrepancies between all parties – ensuring that weekly reconciliations are completed
• Facilitate the loading of export stock into containers if required by the export department, ensuring that all company and statutory requirements are adhered to
• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly stock counts – ensuring that the DC inventory is accurate both physically and as reflected on the system
• Maintain management information systems and procedures, and generate reports as required within your department
• Work closely with the Production & Procurement teams, communicating unforeseen demand requests and assisting with planning as and when required
• Assist management in the control of all warehouse expenses and overhead costs
• Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve warehouse optimization. Take into account the implications of product weight, size, turnover and other factors when allocating warehouse space.
• Identify and correct unsafe practices or activities within your department and relevant areas of control
• Ensure that all plant, vehicles and equipment is safe to operate and adequately maintained
• Ensure that housekeeping and sanitation is up to statutory and company standards

• Forklift
• Grade 12
• Drivers licence
• At least 3 years’ experience as a manager of a team of at least 3 direct reports
• At least 5 years’ experience in warehousing and distribution
• Experience in process control and periodic reporting
