About the Role
Safari JOBS is recruiting for a Duty Manager (Executive Housekeeper) opportunity within a beautifully appointed, high-end safari property in a sought-after Big 5 reserve setting, within the Greater Kruger area. This is a superb role for a polished, detail-driven hospitality professional who takes genuine pride in creating immaculate spaces, leading from the front, and delivering the kind of seamless guest experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail in guest accommodation
- Maintain high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail in all guest areas
- Record and report maintenance service requirements immediately to the Maintenance Assistant
- Pest Control
- Supervise and control the laundry operation in accordance with established methods
- Ensure the guest laundry is collected, washed carefully and returned
- Daily lodge laundry
- Daily staff laundry
- Control housekeeping expenditure
- Monitor stock control systems of personal bars in guests rooms, linen, guests amenities and cleaning materials
- Monthly stocktake of personal bars in guests rooms, housekeeping consumables and linen
- Price updates, GRVs and Budget control
- Inspire, stimulate and lead the team
- Develop your teams and individuals
- Ensure the right people are in the right positions
- Ensure your team is guest focused
- Recognise great guest feedback and deal with negative guest feedback constructively
- Train staff in their areas of responsibility and attend regular training workshops
- Manage Performance
- Manage the teams leave cycle and annual leave
- Assist at Front of House during guests arrivals or departures or Lodge Site Inspections
- Host Guests
- Maintain relationships with the lodge & affiliated community, owners, suppliers
Requirements
- Minimum 2 – 3 years Housekeeping Management experience in a 5 star boutique operation / Big 5 reserve with in a similar lodge environment
- Budget & stock control experience
- Rooms division or Front of house experience – advantage
- Hospitality and service training experience advantage
- Excellent English fluency & literacy
- Computer literate
Salary & Benefits
Monthly CTC remuneration NEG. DOE and qualifications
Working Conditions
- 21 days on, 7 days off plus 15 leave days per annum
- Accommodation provided private with own bathroom etc.
- Uniform and laundry thereof
- Meals provided, on duty
- Work Cycle: 21 days on, 7 days off plus 15 leave days per annum
- Staff bed nights
- Accommodation provided
Note
