Job Description

Job Overview The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service delivery, and strong financial performance. This role manages restaurant, bar, kitchen coordination, stock control, and service standards in line with hospitality excellence. ️ Key Responsibilities Operational Management Oversee daily food and beverage operations (restaurant, bar, and dining experiences) Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams Maintain high service standards and guest satisfaction at all times Manage dining schedules, special events, and guest requirements Guest Experience Interact with guests to ensure exceptional service delivery Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally Ensure personalized and memorable dining experiences Staff Management Recruit, train, and supervise F&B staff Manage staff rosters, attendance, and performance Conduct regular training on service standards, hygiene, and product knowledge Foster a positive and professional team environment Stock Control & Procurement Oversee stock control, ordering, and inventory management Minimize wastage and control costs effectively Work closely with suppliers and ensure quality of products Financial Management Monitor budgets, food costs, and beverage costs Analyze sales and implement strategies to improve revenue Ensure all POS systems and cash handling procedures are followed Health & Safety Compliance Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards Maintain cleanliness and organization in all F&B areas Ensure adherence to health, safety, and licensing regulations Reporting & Administration Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports Monitor KPIs and operational performance Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred) Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage management role Previous experience in a lodge, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills Solid understanding of food, wine, and beverage service Strong financial and cost-control knowledge Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Personal Attributes Passion for hospitality and guest service Hands-on and detail-oriented Professional, well-presented, and approachable Strong decision-making ability Flexible and adaptable Working Conditions Shift-based work including weekends and public holidays Live-in position may be required (for lodges) High-pressure environment during peak service periods
