General Management Couple | Luxury Lodge | Kruger National Park
Salary: R60,000 – R70,000 Combined | Live-In With Benefits
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced General Management Couple for a luxury lodge in Kruger National Park. This senior leadership role requires in-depth knowledge of lodge operations, finance, and staff management, combined with a passion for hospitality and exceptional people skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall management of the lodge, including both front- and back-of-house operations

Ensure effective budget and financial management while maintaining excellent guest service and satisfaction
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, guests, departments, the local community, and industry stakeholders
-
Implement business efficiencies including cost control, quality management, and logistics optimisation
-
Maintain and enhance HR structures, ensuring adherence to company policies and staff development plans
-
Lead product development across guest experiences including lodge, dining, and game activities
-
Act as custodian of operational equipment and lodge assets
-
Analyse sustainability impacts and implement practical solutions to reduce environmental and community impact

Forecast and monitor financial results in collaboration with Head Office finance team
-
Facilitate training, mentoring, and career development for all staff members
-
Monitor departmental performance, ensuring standards are met and corrective actions are taken when necessary
-
Manage staffing levels, leave rosters, payroll, and recruitment of temporary staff as needed
-
Host agents, media, VIP groups, and general guests, ensuring exceptional service delivery
-
Lead by example, creating a positive workplace culture aligned with company values and mission
-
Conduct regular departmental meetings, communicate effectively with staff, and ensure transparent operations
-
Implement and maintain health and safety protocols throughout the lodge
-
Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, and creativity in achieving operational objectives
-
Oversee computer and financial systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting and administration
Knowledge & Skills Required:
-
Relevant hospitality or tourism education
-
Minimum of five years experience in responsible management or leadership roles
-
In-depth understanding of lodge operations, budgeting, finance, and human resource management
-
PDP licence required
-
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Outstanding leadership, staff coaching, and development abilities
-
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
-
Knowledge of computer systems and basic technical/mechanical operations
