About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef to join our award-winning 5-star luxury boutique game lodge in Kruger National Park. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and delivering world-class cuisine to our discerning guests. With a focus on Michelin Standard gastronomy, we require a chef who can balance creativity with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure seamless service delivery
- Develop and implement menus that showcase your culinary expertise and creativity
- Manage a small team of chefs to achieve exceptional standards of food quality and presentation
- Maintain high levels of precision, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen
- Work closely with our events team to create bespoke dining experiences for guests
- Monitor and control costs to ensure profitability and sustainability
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Formal Chefs qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in 5-star establishments or top awarded restaurants
- Proven culinary creativity and innovation
- Strong decision making, organisation & leadership skills
- Proven background in staff management and ability to recruit, train and motivate staff
Qualifications
- Formal education in Culinary Arts (e.g. Baking and Pastry Arts, Hotel Management)
