Job Description

Purpose of the Role The Junior Finance & Admin Clerk provides administrative and financial support to the finance department, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and smooth day-to-day office administration. This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate looking to grow within finance and administration. Key Duties & Responsibilities Finance & Accounting Support Capture and process supplier invoices, credit notes, and expense claims Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration Allocate payments and reconcile customer and supplier accounts Assist with bank reconciliations Prepare supporting documents for monthly processing and audits Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems Assist with petty cash control and reconciliations Administrative Duties General office administration and filing (physical and electronic) Answer and direct telephone calls and emails professionally Assist with data capturing and report preparation Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, and databases Assist with ordering office supplies and managing stock levels Support HR and management with basic admin tasks as required Compliance & Support Ensure documents are compliant with company policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information Assist senior finance staff with ad-hoc tasks and projects Qualifications & Experience Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) essential Basic understanding of accounting principles Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Certificate or diploma in Finance; Accounting, Bookkeeping or Administration 12 years experience in a finance or admin role (internship or learnership acceptable) Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good numerical ability Excellent organisational and time-management skills Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines Professional communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work well in a team Willingness to learn and grow within the finance field Personal Attributes Honest; reliable, and trustworthy Well-presented and professional Proactive and positive attitude Able to handle confidential information discreetly
