About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Junior Sous Chef on behalf of a luxury lodge based in the Klaserie Reserve. This role is ideal for a hands-on, creative chef seeking experience in a high-end hospitality environment, supporting the Executive and Sous Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for lodge guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with lodge standards
- Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Supervise and train kitchen staff as required
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in the kitchen
- Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and inventory control
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a lodge or luxury hospitality environment
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and culinary techniques
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Willingness to live on-site at the lodge
