?Lodge Manager 5 Safari Lodge – Sabi Sand ? Location: Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Mpumalanga ? Salary: R25,000 CTC (Negotiable, dependent on experience) ? Accommodation / Meals: Live-in ? Start Date: URGENT Position Overview A leading 5 safari lodge in the Greater Kruger/Sabi Sand area is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lodge Manager to oversee all aspects of the guest experience and day-to-day lodge operations. This role demands exceptional leadership, polished communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to world-class guest service. The Lodge Manager serves as a key ambassador of the brand, responsible for ensuring every stay is seamless, personalised, and memorable while maintaining excellence across departments. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Be a visible and hands-on host, engaging with guests daily to ensure a warm, personalised, and memorable stay. Oversee the delivery of exceptional guest service and experience across all departments. Handle guest feedback professionally and turn insights into opportunities for continuous improvement. Act as the primary point of contact for VIP guests and travel partners. Ensure all activities, dining experiences, and guest touchpoints are executed to the highest standard. Lodge Operations Coordinate communication between all departments Front of House, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Guiding to ensure smooth daily operations. Maintain consistent quality, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the lodge. Uphold brand standards, operational SOPs, and safety regulations. Staff Leadership & Development Lead; motivate, and mentor the guest services team through active presence and example. Oversee performance management, training initiatives, and skills development. Cultivate a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability. Support career growth through structured coaching and consistent feedback. Financial & Administrative Oversight Assist in daily financial control, including expenditure, stock management, and supplier coordination. Monitor costs, streamline efficiencies, and ensure accuracy in lodge reporting. Maintain stock integrity and compliance with company financial policies. Compliance & Standards Enforce health, safety, hygiene, and sustainability standards across all departments. Support company environmental initiatives around energy, waste, and water management. Ensure team compliance with HR policies, rosters, and disciplinary procedures. Reporting & Communication Attend regular management meetings and submit accurate reports on operations, guest feedback, and staff development. Liaise with the General Manager and support teams to maintain alignment on goals and guest expectations. Requirements & Experience Minimum 35 years experience in a senior lodge management or guest services leadership role at a 5 safari property . Strong operational understanding of luxury lodge service delivery. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Impeccable personal presentation and guest-centric attitude. High level of organisation, discipline, and attention to detail. Valid drivers licence and own transport essential. Computer literate with working knowledge of property management systems and Microsoft Office. Proven stability in employment history candidates with consistent, long-term roles will be prioritised.
