About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lodge Manager to join our client’s newly opening 7-room luxury lodge in Greater Kruger (Hoedspruit). As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for setting standards, building a strong team culture, and delivering consistently high guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full day-to-day lodge operation across all departments
- Lead, train, and motivate teams to deliver luxury service standards
- Ensure excellent guest relations, hosting, and service recovery at all times
- Maintain high presentation standards across rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
- Oversee stock control, ordering, budgeting basics, and operational cost awareness
- Implement and maintain SOPs, checklists, and opening processes
- Coordinate reservations / guest communications, daily schedules, and activity flow
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and lodge procedures
- Support the owners/management team with reporting and operational planning
Requirements
- Proven 5* Lodge Manager or senior lodge management experience essential
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational ability
- Hands-on, solutions-driven, and calm under pressure
- Confident across FOH, housekeeping, F&B, admin, and general operations
- Strong attention to detail and pride in standards
- Willing to work in a live-in, remote bush environment
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: R20,000 – R30,000 per month (depending on experience)
- Live-in accommodation provided
- Three meals per day included
