About the Role
BevCo is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure optimal functioning of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities in line with OEM standards and internal best practices
- Develop, schedule, and optimize PM tasks
- Convert maintenance notifications into work orders with clear scope, required materials, and labour estimates
- Schedule daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance plans in coordination with the production and maintenance teams
- Allocate tasks based on artisan availability and skill set, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Ensure all materials, tools, and spare parts are available before scheduled maintenance begins
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies
Requirements
- N6/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Up to 4 years’ experience (Operational Execution) Planning in FMCG environment
- Experience with CMMS and maintenance best practices
- Background in asset care, reliability-centred maintenance
- Working knowledge of production and maintenance integration
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: N6/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

- Adhere to SHEQ requirements when planning and coordinating maintenance activities
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with local safety and environmental regulations
- Support root cause (RCA) and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives through historical data and KPIs
Team Leadership and Support
- Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanical staff
- Provide training and development to ensure team skill levels remain high
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct evaluations
- Build strong relationships with maintenance teams, production, stores, and engineering stakeholders
Problem Solving
- Proactive identification of functional problems related to a specific process or policy, determine cause and impact, and choose the best alternative to solve the problem based on guidelines provided and an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning the problem.
Behavioural Competencies
- Planning and Organising: Manage time effectively, ensuring effective completion of tasks under stressful deadlines.
- Collaboration: Meets commitments to team members or others in the organisation.
