WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
A Manager, Automation and Systems Integration, who is responsible for leading and overseeing all control, automation and system integration functions across the sites. The role ensures high system reliability, drives automation excellence and delivers continuous improvement through process optimisation, digital transformation and technology-driven initiatives aligned with Industry 4.0 principles. You will be based in Zambia.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for automation, control and integration systems, ensuring plant reliability, process innovation and sustainable cost performance. The role acts as a catalyst for digital transformation, enabling the company to enhance operational efficiency, data security and real-time decision-making across both manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
1.Lead automation and system integration operations across both sites, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
2.Define and implement automation strategies to improve plant efficiency, reliability and safety.
3.Oversee development, upgrade and lifecycle management of PLC, SCADA and control systems.
4.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and industrial data protection standards
5.Collaborate with engineering, production and IT teams to optimise system integration and connectivity.
6.Drive IoT, data analytics and predictive maintenance initiatives to advance Industry 4.0 capabilities.
7.Manage automation budgets, maintenance cost targets and performance KPIs. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Control and Automation Engineers and Technicians.
8.Partner with external vendors and technology providers for system enhancement and innovation.
9.Standardise automation practices across plants to ensure scalability and best-in-class reliability
WHAT DO YOU NEED:
Skills
Strong technical expertise in PLC, SCADA and DCS systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent)
Advanced understanding of industrial networking, sensors, instrumentation and data systems
Proficient in IoT architecture, data analytics and control system cybersecurity. Strategic planning and leadership skills with ability manage multi-site operations
Excellent analytical, decision-making and communication skills
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
812 years of progressive experience in automation, control systems and manufacturing integration
Proven track record of leading automation teams and managing large-scale system upgrades
Hands-on experience implementing IoT, data-driven automation and Industry 4.0 frameworks
Experience with cost optimisation and project delivery in high-speed manufacturing environments
