About the Role

G-Core Capital is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering and capital projects within our automotive and steel manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering and capital projects from concept to commissioning
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources
• Support industrialisation of new products, tooling, and processes
• Coordinate equipment installation, line modifications, and process upgrades
• Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe project execution
• Monitor project progress and report status to management
• Liaise with production, maintenance, quality, suppliers, and contractors
• Resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives linked to engineering projects
• Ensure proper documentation, handover, and project close-out
• Demonstrate knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHS standards
• Proven experience in engineering project management within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of steel manufacturing, press operations, and production processes
• Ability to manage equipment installation, line modifications, and process industrialisation

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project or Engineering role within automotive or steel manufacturing
• Press, Weld, or Tooling environment experience advantageous

• Formal education/certifications are required for this position.
