South Africa: Project Finance Lead

Job Description

Join a leading African-based organisation dedicated to healthcare. We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Project Finance Lead to support a major multi‑year capital project. Why join this team? Play a key role in large-scale facility construction and strategic capital projects Work within a mission-driven organisation contributing to improved healthcare outcomes Collaborate with cross‑functional project, finance, and technical teams Opportunity to drive governance, compliance, and financial excellence across complex investment activities What you will be doing: Fixed Asset Management Ensure IFRS‑aligned fixed asset governance Document asset classification, componentisation and useful life rationale Review and release fixed asset requisitions Manage assets under construction and capitalisation processes Maintain wear‑and‑tear registers and support SARS submissions Ensure insurance coverage and consult on technical accounting matters Review fixed asset receipts and deliver monthly reporting Conduct useful life and impairment assessments Review and approve asset transfer/scrap requests General Ledger Maintenance Set up project cost/profit centres and oversee cost allocations Analyse operating costs for potential capitalisation Translate project lifecycle into annual budgets (2026-2029) Liaise with project managers to integrate financial impacts Mentor analysts on fixed assets, GL and cash flow Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities Cash & Treasury Management Maintain 3‑month cash forecasts and liaise with Treasury on liquidity Prepare 12‑month cash flow forecasts Oversee SARB approvals Track project payments and ensure audit‑ready documentation Prepare funding disbursement requests Manage cash usage, exchange risks and funder balances Support funding due diligence and covenant reporting Additional Responsibilities Prepare schedules and reports for funders Support audits (internal, external, project‑related) Participate in SAP improvement projects Provide financial support to project teams What we are looking for: CA(SA) or CIMA 5 years in financial accounting Experience in manufacturing or fixed‑asset‑intensive environments Proven financial management of construction/expansion projects Experience in cash flow, treasury, and banking Knowledge of SARS VAT & Income Tax legislation Benefits and unique aspects: Opportunity to contribute to major capital expansion projects Professional growth within a high‑impact healthcare manufacturing environment Exposure to strategic funders, auditors and senior project stakeholders Hybrid technical and strategic finance role Please note if you haven’t heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time.
