Head Guide Opportunity Exclusive Lodge & Reserve, Northern Cape
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Guide to lead our guiding team at a world-class luxury lodge and private reserve in the Northern Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a guest-focused environment, excels at guide training and development, and demonstrates strong leadership in all aspects of lodge management.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional guest experiences through outstanding guiding standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of guides, with a strong focus on training, growth, and upliftment.
Ensure the highest levels of safety, professionalism, and conservation ethics are maintained at all times.
Manage departmental budgets, financial planning, and cost controls.
Oversee HR functions within the guiding team, including recruitment, performance management, and staff welfare.
Collaborate with lodge management and other Heads of Department to maintain seamless guest experiences.
Produce accurate departmental reports and contribute to lodge-wide operational planning.
Requirements:
FGASA Level 3 (minimum), with Lead Trails and ARH qualifications preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in a guiding leadership role at a luxury lodge.
Proven ability to train, mentor, and inspire guides.
Strong financial and administrative skills, with a track record in budget management.
Excellent guest relations skills with a passion for creating memorable safari experiences.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
