About the Role
Bushwise, an award-winning Big 5 safari destination, is seeking a dedicated Reservationist/Receptionist to join our team in the heart of the Garden Route. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for world-class hospitality to handle guest enquiries, manage bookings, and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Booking Management: Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, and online platforms (Booking.com, TripAdvisor, etc.) from initial quote to final confirmation.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Proactively upsell accommodation categories, luxury safari packages, and value-added experiences like spa treatments or private dinners.
- System Accuracy: Efficiently capture and maintain guest profiles and booking data in the lodges Property Management System (PMS).
- Interdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Safari teams to ensure special requests and guest movements are communicated seamlessly.
- Financial Administration: Follow up on provisional bookings, manage deposit payments, and issue pro-forma invoices.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 23 years in a reservations or front office role within a 4/5-star lodge or hotel environment.
- Education: Matric/Grade 12 essential; a tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Tourism is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and experience with hospitality software like Opera, NightsBridge, or PAN Strat.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, high attention to detail, and a calm, professional telephone etiquette.
- Attitude: A guest-centric approach with the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
