About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Relief Travel Specialist to join our team at a leading safari company based in Westlake, Cape Town. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless service delivery to our clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee teammates’ desks during consultant leave and manage requotes/proposals.
- Assist with brochure quotes and agent/hosted educational bookings in collaboration with Sales.
- Support system implementation and testing of new procedures.
- Chase provisional bookings and follow up on dead leads during quiet periods.
- Load bookings during peak periods and design creative itineraries.
- Maintain clear communication with agents, Sales, supplier partners, and colleagues.
- Participate in rotational emergency duty and weekly early/late shifts.
- Deliver calm, professional service to agents and guests.
- Uphold values of care for people, land, and wildlife.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Formal travel & tourism qualification
- At least 3–5 years inbound tour consulting experience required
Qualifications
- Tourplan, WETU, and Microsoft systems knowledge
- Strong knowledge of South Africa, Southern & East Africa
- Methodical, creative, patient, energetic, flexible, decisive, and adaptable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and sense of urgency
- Passionate about guest delight, diligent, and self-motivated
