Job Description

An extraordinary sanctuary of wellness nestled within the tranquil beauty of Zanzibar is looking for a Spa and Wellness Manager to assist the company in achieving the strategic direction and goals of its spa operations . The role applies to both skills and professional behaviour that enable the spa operations to provide guests with outstanding spa services ; treatments; products and facilities that are of exceptional quality; safety, hygiene and responsiveness to individual needs. The role of the Spa Manager is to ensure that the desired standards and protocols are implemented correctly and consistently. The Spa Manager reports to the Spa Operations Manager and Company Director. Duties: Submit the reports to Head Office in a timely manner. Reports include: Commission and payroll report by end of Each month Timesheet & Attendance Spa Month End Report with additional system generated back ups Sales Report Stock take, which will be done as part of month end reports Annual summary of services Monthly Revenue Stats Maintenance Report Any incident reports Staff Appraisal reports Ensure that the operation of each spa runs according to company guideline and take full responsibility of the spa, stock, and the staff. Perform the opening and closing procedures Complete all end of day revenue reports, recording all guest invoices, treatments, revenue generating sales in an accurate and correct manner Ensure that all room charges are correctly and promptly charged Drive Staff Development and training Take charge of Maintenance management to ensure required tasks are completed in a timely manner and follow up when tasks are not completed Deliver variety of Spa services and procedures to a high quality and standard as required Deliver a variety of Holistic Spa services, including Yoga and Meditation sessions, basic body massages and any other Holistic services Offer and delivering of personal development and life-coaching for guests Display knowledge on performing guest retreats and workshops Design and execute all wellness activities, retreats and events Promote wellness programs through in-house guests and build strong wellness and holistic database Design wellness retreats including all activities, treatments and take ownership of managing events, including motivational talks and holistic / wellness activities Set monthly targets for team members and motivate and drive to achieve said targets Demonstrate sincere customer focus and true appreciation for the guest experience. Develop and maintain adequate professional product program. Develop and maintain retail product program. Create training rosters to ensure your staff are always practising what they preach. Lead monthly stock take reports with team support and ensure Spa Par stock are in good condition, clean and at sufficient levels. Ensure all dealings with guests at the spa and health club area to meet or exceed the hotels operating standards. Ensure all areas of the Spa are kept clean and well always maintained. Ensure compliance with all legislation governing the operation of a Spa facility. Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are always paramount. Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards to effectively manage operational cost. Ensure that the Spa team adhere to all hotels and company operational and service standards. Ensure that spa department follows business conduct and ethics. Ensure that spa department follows hotel policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency, and Fire prevention. Identify and capitalize on opportunities to up & cross-sell products, services, and packages Identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities to support Financial targets and KPIs Maintain a neat, clean, and hygienic working environment. Lead and manage the Spa Reception alongside Spa Team Conduct Spa Tours to guests and answer questions confidently and knowledgeable Ensure clear and respectful communication between all spa team members and other departments as required Creation and implementation of a marketing plan, promoting services and programs Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors Conduct and ensure that departmental communication meetings are scheduled and effective. Requirements: Internationally recognized spa and beauty therapy certifications Diploma in International Beauty Therapy ITEC / CIDESCO / SAAHSP. Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty / Body Therapy or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years experience in a Spa Manager role within a luxury 5* hospitality environment. Well versed in all aspects of the Spa’s operations, i.e. business telephone, Guest relations, retail sales, spa services Display deep knowledge and understanding of nutrition, exercise, mind-body connection, wellness, yoga, meditation Able to provide guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes. Able to achieve high performance and operational standards. Able to liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of the spa operations. Able to handle any guest complaints or special requirements. Able to implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximise spa and health club operational revenue. Able to analyse and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions Proven background in delivering premium guest experiences and wellness services in high-end resort settings. Strong track record of leading and motivating teams, achieving KPIs, and improving operational efficiencies. Ability to implement problem solving solutions in business operation
