About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with expertise in electrical components to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage the Qualifying Program for new part introduction
  • Implement continuous improvement by identifying root causes of part deviations from specification and correcting them in all phases of the part’s life cycle
  • Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to specification
  • Provide required Technical Expertise for complete parts in respect of material and function
  • Initiate design improvements for complex problems with electrical parts and harnesses

Requirements

  • National Diploma Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable motor vehicle parts, their function, applicable specifications, part manufacturing processes, and testing methods
  • Sound technical knowledge of motor vehicle harnesses and electrical components
  • Knowledge and application of Quality Tools (e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Computer literate (Ms Office)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels within the company and externally
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver license
