About the Role

Our client, HotelJobs, is seeking an experienced Wine Category Manager to join their team in Bahrain. As a leading importer and distributor of alcoholic beverages in Bahrain, they operate across various channels including retail, home delivery, and on-trade sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and developing the wine portfolio across all channels, with a focus on strategic portfolio management, market analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to position the company as the market leader in curated wine selections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to grow the wine portfolio
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors
  • Monitor sales data and adjust inventory accordingly

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wine or category management roles
  • Strong commercial acumen, including knowledge of pricing, margins, stock and depletion control
  • Extensive knowledge of wines from around the world, including old and new world wines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage staff and customers
  • Proficient with Salesforce/CRM, PowerBI/Tableau, and Excel

Qualifications

  • WSET Level 3+ (Level 4/CMS a big plus)
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite; Arabic is a big plus

Salary & Benefits

Package salary US$4,800 net per month. Accommodation, transportation, medical insurance, life insurance, and annual ticket home are provided. Single or married status with up to two children under 18 years old (no schooling provided) is required.
