Job Description

PBT Group is seeking a skilled and experienced User Interface Developer to join its Stellenbosch-based team. This role focuses on the high-quality implementation of desktop applications within an established architectural framework. The successful candidate will work within a defined C# and .NET technology stack, building responsive, maintainable, and robust WPF-based user interfaces. This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who excels at translating architectural designs and functional requirements into clean, structured, and efficient code. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain desktop user interfaces using C#, .NET, and WPF Strictly implement and maintain the MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) design pattern Work within an established software architecture, ensuring consistency with existing standards Integrate backend services, APIs, and business logic into the UI layer Optimise UI performance and responsiveness for data-intensive applications Translate business and functional requirements into working interface features Ensure code quality, maintainability, and alignment with best practices Minimum Requirements Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline 5 years professional software development experience Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET framework Extensive hands-on experience with WPF and XAML Deep practical understanding of MVVM architecture Ability to work independently within a defined architecture and scope Strong attention to detail and clean coding principles Highly Advantageous Practical experience with OpenGL or similar graphics libraries Experience developing complex data visualisation interfaces Exposure to performance-sensitive desktop applications Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate: Is a strong technical contributor rather than purely architectural Thrives in structured, well-defined development environments Has strong UI performance optimisation experience Can confidently build feature-rich, data-heavy desktop applications Is comfortable working onsite in Stellenbosch full-time * In order to comply with the POPI Act, for future career opportunities, we require your permission to maintain your personal details on our database.
