About the Role
Status Staffing is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, ensuring efficient stock management, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Finished Goods – Warehousing / Distribution:
• In constant communication with Logistics and 3rd party sales representative regarding container loading, storage at OWS, JFH, ICS and any other warehouse that we utilise
• Management of stock on hand of different sites
• Ensures structures and systems are in place to monitor the flow of goods
• Create sufficient stacking space for production
• Physical picking of samples daily
• Driving forklift when short staffed
• Allocate stock for onsite wine shop
• Controls movement and accurate documentation of goods between sites
- Dry Goods – Stock Holding:
• Oversees dry goods receipt, locating and stock holding ensuring stock accuracy and availability to meet production demands.
• Managing all 3rd party dry goods with reiving, storing & picking and communication to clients
• Ensures stock levels with Suppliers are maintained within agreed specified minimum levels
• Picking dry goods samples when needed
• Driving forklift when short staffed
• Supply accurate stock report to customers per request
• Timely responses to customer queries
- Stock Control:
• Monthly stock take procedure in place that also includes weekly cycle counts
• Oversee the physical disposal of obsolete / redundant stock
• Counting of wineshop on a weekly basis
• Dealing with customer queries and complaints
- Administration Processes:
• Accurate documentation to be competed with each load
• Investigates all problem areas and customer complaints and takes corrective action to avoid future reoccurrence
• Manage warehouse monthly financials – operations to fall within target budget
• Responsible for monthly KPI and Sla performance
• Raising of PO for 3rd party clients and receipting of it on SAGE daily
• Sending out of dry goods receipt to 3rd party clients
• Phone calls, emails, whatsapp messages to 3rd party clients informing short falls
• Counting of stock for both 3rd party clients and OWS dry goods
• Managing space for dry goods daily
• Running stocktakes, doing reconciliation, counting and adjustment sessions on SAGE
- People Management:
• Ensures effective communication between management, staff and different departments
• Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
• Manages staff performance according to company standards, policies and procedures.
• Conducts performance appraisals and reviews and recruit staff when necessary.
• Identifies training needs and contributes to the development and training of staff
- Health, Safety and Housekeeping:
• Ensures compliance with statutory legislation (OHS Act) and all company safety and hygiene policies and procedures are adhered to
• Ensures housekeeping is kept in order and meets required standards as well as general maintenance and all areas of responsibility are clean and neat
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
- Experience in the Wine Industry or FMCG environment would be an advantage
- Relevant Degree / Diploma in Warehousing/Distribution Management
- Experience with Stock management system
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with people and provide training of staff
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated person who can work in coordination with other managers to meet standards and guidelines.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, Logical thinker
