Job Summary
Fitter Manufacturing / Sawmill Industry (Eastern Cape)
Our client, a leading manufacturing and timber operation, is seeking a qualified Fitter (Red Seal) to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of plant and machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, and sawmill-related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and machinery
-
Install and set up new equipment efficiently
-
Maintain accurate records of work performed
-
Support apprentices and semi-skilled artisans through on-the-job training
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and housekeeping standards
-
Assist with planned maintenance programmes and fault diagnosis
Requirements
Requirements:
-
Matric / NTC 3
-
Trade-tested Fitter (Red Seal); Fitter & Turner advantageous
-
Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment (sawmill experience preferred)
-
Proven welding skills and machine setup experience
-
Code EB drivers licence with own transport
-
Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends, and standby duties
-
English proficiency; Xhosa an advantage
