Behind every well-run operation is a finance function that keeps the wheels turning smoothly. A growing and fast-moving business is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their team. This is not a back-office ticking exercise – this is a hands-on role where leadership, accuracy, and commercial awareness matter. The successful candidate will take ownership of the accounting function, manage a team of 8, and ensure month-end reporting and reconciliations are delivered with precision. Exposure to foreign exchange and multi-currency transactions is essential, as this business operates beyond local borders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full accounting team (8 direct reports)
- Ensure accurate and timeous month-end reporting
- Perform and review reconciliations across all major accounts
- Manage foreign exchange transactions and related reporting
- Review and approve journals, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance
- Support management with accurate financial insights
- Assist in improving financial processes and efficiencies
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom, BCompt, CIMA or other relevant financial qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Proven experience managing and mentoring a finance team
- Strong reconciliation skills and month-end reporting exposure
- Foreign exchange experience is non-negotiable
- Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured environment
