About the Role

As a Fruit and Veg Commercial Manager at APEX Hotel Supplies, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability through strategic commercial planning, market development, and supplier management. With a focus on quality and timely delivery, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead our category management efforts and drive revenue growth across our fruit and veg portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category-specific commercial strategies aligned with company objectives
• Identify new market opportunities, product lines, and revenue streams
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international growers/suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
• Ensure consistent product quality, availability, and cost efficiency
• Work closely with sales teams to drive volume and margin growth
• Manage key accounts within retail, wholesale, and HORECA channels
• Support customer negotiations, tenders, and pricing strategies
• Analyse sales and financial data to optimise profitability
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and category performance reporting
• Liaise with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient supply chain flow
• Minimise waste, shrinkage, and stock losses
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in fresh produce, FMCG, or agricultural commercial roles
• Proven experience in procurement, category management, or trading
• Strong background in fruit and vegetable markets (local & export preferred)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or related field
