As the Applications Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation’s core business applications landscape—driving stability, scalability, and innovation. You will lead application architecture, development, integration, and optimisation while ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational goals. This role plays a key part in technology governance, Agile delivery, and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee core business application roadmaps, system performance, integrity, and availability
- Lead end-to-end delivery of application projects using Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Drive innovation, automation, and digitalisation to improve operational efficiency
- Manage integrations, APIs, and application ecosystems across internal and external platforms
- Lead, mentor, and coach application and development teams
- Embed user feedback into backlogs to continuously improve product and system experience
- Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams on unified change and release management
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration
Experience:
- 10–15 years’ experience managing business applications and software development environments
- 7–10 years’ direct people and team management experience
- 5–7 years’ experience implementing and optimising core business systems (ERP, CRM, Mobile Apps)
- Strong exposure to Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and vendor management
- Proven experience translating business requirements into scalable technology solutions
Skills:
- Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and quality assurance practices
- ERP and business systems management (e.g. Odoo, SAP, or similar)
- Integration architecture and API design knowledge
- Business process mapping and reengineering expertise
- Strategic, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- PMP and Agile/Scrum (CSM or CSPO) certification
- ITIL V4 Foundation and COBIT certification
- Willingness to travel when required
- Availability for after-hours support or standby
