About the Role
The Despatch Supervisor will oversee the despatch department, leading a team of pickers and packers, and ensuring timely dispatch of all deliveries. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee despatch department.
- Lead team of pickers and packers.
- Ensure despatch area is clean and tidy at the end of the day.
- Manage and prioritise all deliveries to be dispatched timeously.
- Keep constant communication with sales admin as to which invoices to manage priority deliveries.
- Communicate with in-house Couriers on the premises, re container, pallets, cages, pallet wrap, etc.
- Ensure accuracy with inventory control and correct records are maintained for local and national orders.
- Prevent shrinkage and losses in the Despatch Department, this includes the picking of orders of finished product, for distribution.
- Dispatch all outbound finished stock (Waybill, invoice). No stock to leave the company premises without an invoice and to leave in good saleable condition.
- Perform the necessary administration functions.
- Maintain procedures and legislation for a safe and secure working environment, within the Despatch Department.
- Responsible for distributing product and all goods leaving the company’s premises, must be monitored. This includes the pickups from various couriers and clients.
- Assist with cyclical stock counts, as required.
- Maintain a high level of Housekeeping in and around dispatch and warehouses.
Requirements
- High School diploma / matriculant
- 5 years’ experience in similar role
