Job Description
The Lead Project Engineer (Migrations & Onboards) is responsible for leading end-to-end client migration and onboarding projects across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. This role ensures seamless transitions to modern infrastructure platforms (primarily Microsoft 365 and Azure), while maintaining high standards of security, performance, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage multiple migration and onboarding projects across diverse client environments.
- Drive full lifecycle delivery from planning through post-migration support.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of infrastructure upgrades.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including technical teams and executives.
Migration & Onboarding Execution
- Lead Active Directory to Microsoft 365 migrations (Hybrid and full cloud).
- Execute tenant migrations, endpoint onboarding, and system integrations.
- Design hybrid-cloud architectures and synchronization strategies.
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
- Manage Azure, Intune, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Maintain virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
- Ensure network stability (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs).
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and other tools.
- Improve efficiency through automation and standardization.
Security & Compliance
- Implement security frameworks including SIEM, EDR, and MDR.
- Ensure compliance with best practices, backups, and disaster recovery.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- Proven track record in migration and onboarding projects.
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs).
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python).
Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree or Diploma in IT or related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect (advantageous).
