About the Role
A leading international smart metering solutions provider is seeking a trustworthy and self-motivated Metering Technician to join their field services team in Cape Town. This is a remote, field-based position suited for an individual who enjoys being on the road and taking ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and configure electricity, water, and gas meters
- Diagnose and repair meter faults and communication issues
- Perform scheduled maintenance and ensure meter accuracy
- Capture and verify readings for precise data reporting
- Provide customer support and basic technical guidance
Requirements
- Trade qualification or recognised Electrician Certification
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in metering installation, electrical maintenance, or a similar field
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Sound knowledge of metering systems, wiring, and relevant electrical regulations
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
