Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement world class quality management processes within the plant
- Achieve zero customer complaints through ongoing auditing and refining of processes within the value chain
- Manage the quality team on product quality and root cause analysis of product defects/rejects and customer complaints
- Lead the business in the effective implementation and integration of the QMS system including adherence to BRC, FDA and ISO requirements
- Support the production and quality team in error proofing processes in line with zero defect approach
- Achievement of Continuous Improvement projects including reduction of waste and implementation of preventative and corrective action plans OTIF
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in the identification and elimination of risks that could impact on product integrity (HACCP)
- Ensure testing protocols are adhered to and inspection plans are in place in line with process requirements
- Lead the quality team in the design and implementation of test methods and processes that enable us to achieve our quality goals and objectives
- Implementation of statistical quality and process control methodology
- Minimise cost of non-conformance
- Management of quality team in line with KPA’s and relevant management processes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Educated to degree level, ideally BSc or Chemical Engineering with post graduate qualification in polymer science
- Ability to compile scientific reports providing recommendations to address problems that may arise
- Ability to work independently and make decisions based on judgement and integrity
- Ability to work effectively and independently with others to accomplish goals in a challenging environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrates and understands the customs and beliefs of various groups or cultures and understands how these differences affect implementation of quality objectives within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrates high levels of accountability and adaptability in delivering KPI’s
- Demonstrates sound judgement and balanced decision making
- Strong drive to deliver work of an exceptional standard despite time pressure and constraints
- Strong ethical framework and integrity
- Good oral & written communication skills
- High levels of self-motivation
