About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Reserve Manager to join our client’s luxury property group in the Western Cape. This senior role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong operational, conservation, and people management experience within high-end reserve or lodge environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the reserve
- Manage and maintain wildlife, land, and conservation programmes
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Lead, train, and manage reserve and field staff
- Manage budgets, resources, and operational costs effectively
- Oversee infrastructure, maintenance, and reserve vehicles
- Coordinate with hospitality, guiding, and management teams to ensure seamless operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in reserve or conservation management within a luxury lodge or private reserve environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Sound knowledge of wildlife management, conservation practices, and land management
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and make informed operational decisions
- Valid driver’s licence required; additional relevant qualifications advantageous
