Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and certified Business Analyst with over 8 years experience to
join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analysing business processes,
defining requirements and driving solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Experience in
Retail, Supply Chain/Distribution Centre (DC) environments, and strong understanding of both
Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies are essential.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activities across multiple projects and initiatives.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagements to gather and document business requirements.
- Manage UAT
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
- Develop process maps, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
Retail and Supply Chain Focus
- Analyse and optimize retail operational processes, including merchandising, store operations, inventory management, and customer experience.
- Support Supply Chain and DC process improvements related to inbound/outbound logistics, inventory control, order fulfilment, and distribution efficiency.
- Collaborate with retail and DC operations teams to identify system gaps and improvement opportunities.
Project Delivery and Methodologies
- Participate in project planning, sprint reviews, backlog prioritization, and change management activities.
- Work effectively within Agile squads and/or Waterfall project structures depending on project needs.
- Support testing efforts including test case development, execution, and defect management.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business units, IT, vendors, and project teams.
Data and Insights
- Perform data analysis to validate business problems and support recommendations.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and solutions.
Qualifications
- Matric and a tertiary degree
- Certified Business Analyst (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent).
- 8+ years experience working as a Business Analyst.
- Must have WMS – Warehouse Management System experience
- Strong experience in Retail and Supply Chain/DC environments.
- Proven experience delivering projects in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Document as-is and to-be process with improvement to processes/gap analysis
