About the Role
Hire Resolve is currently partnering with a reputable civil engineering company in Wellington to find a skilled and experienced Senior Estimator. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, working closely with the project team to analyze project requirements, review designs, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects
- Review designs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare quantity take-offs and material pricing
- Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Compile and submit accurate and competitive bids
- Prepare and present cost estimate reports to management and clients
- Track and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with project team to ensure timely completion of estimates
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, materials, and methods (water, stormwater and pipe work)
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license
