About the Role
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Estimator for a construction company. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and materials required for construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all estimates are thorough and aligned with the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required resources.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information for accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Review and analyse historical data, including productivity analysis, for use in future estimates.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and software.
- Evaluate and manage subcontractor and supplier proposals and quotations.
- Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and reports to senior management.
- Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide support during project planning and execution phases to ensure estimates are adhered to and variances are managed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in construction estimation software
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
