Job Description

Requirements / Qualifications:

Grade 12 and trade-tested.
Proven experience as a press operator or in a similar role.
Technical knowledge of hydraulic, eccentric, punch, and arch presses.
Ability to perform machine setup, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Skilled in using measuring instruments, gauges, and basic hand tools.
Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in noisy/hot/cold environments.
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused.
Able to follow blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
Work independently and as part of a team.
English and Afrikaans proficiency.
Willingness to work rotational shifts and overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate punch press machines using progressive dies.
Inspect stamped components for dimensional and cosmetic quality using hand tools and automated equipment.
Monitor machine performance, adjust settings, and perform routine maintenance.
Work with quality and engineering teams to meet production standards.
Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
Ensure safety, housekeeping, and compliance with ISO quality standards.
Coordinate with colleagues to meet production deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume mechanical production environment.

Commitment to following training and upskilling plans.

Additional Notes:

Shift work is required.
