About the Role
Oasis POA is seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team on a temporary/relief basis during a maternity leave period. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a variety of dishes including salads, fast food items, daily specials, vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes
- Ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standard and served timeously
- Maintain strict food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Assist with food preparation, service, and occasional functions or events
- Keep workstations, kitchen, cold room, and storeroom clean and organised
- Work effectively as part of a team in a small, fast-paced kitchen environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Cook in a deli, café, or restaurant environment
- Experience preparing a range of dishes including salads, breakfasts, meat, fish, and vegetarian options
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude
Qualifications
- Own transport and a recognised culinary qualification will be an advantage (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
- Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional evening/night functions
- Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Fast-paced, small, and warm kitchen environment
- Temporary/relief position for the duration of maternity leave period (4 months, potential start date February/March 2026)
