About the Role
The Technical Services Manager – Electro-Mechanical Engineering position is a commercially driven role that requires a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen. The ideal candidate will leverage their industry network to secure contracts, oversee project execution with precision, and ensure profitability while maintaining high engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure contracts through established relationships with key decision-makers in the Power Generation sector and major Mining Houses in the Mpumalanga Highveld area.
- Oversee the execution of complex refurbishments, fabrications, and machining projects with precision.
- Ensure profitability while maintaining the highest engineering standards.
- Manage engineering workshops or independently run a profit-and-loss (P&L) portfolio.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of industry contacts.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Trade-tested artisan (Turner/Machinist, Boilermaker, etc.) or Mechanical Engineering degree/diploma.
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to scope, quote, and manage complex refurbishments, fabrications, and machining projects.
- Industry Experience: Strong track record in sourcing and delivering work from mines, power stations, and large industrial plants.
- Commercial Acumen: Experience managing engineering workshops or independently running a profit-and-loss (P&L) portfolio.
- Business Development: Demonstrated success in sourcing and quoting for heavy engineering contracts.
