About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Backup Trails Guide to join our team at Wild Dreams Hospitality’s Zululand reserve. As a key member of our guiding team, you will deliver safe and immersive bush experiences while sharing your genuine enthusiasm for wildlife, conservation, and the natural environment with guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate guided bush walks and game drives, ensuring guest safety while delivering informative and engaging wildlife experiences
• Support the Lead Trails Guide during walking safaris
• Interpret the natural environment for guests, sharing knowledge of wildlife behaviour, ecology, tracking, and conservation
• Maintain safari equipment to ensure they remain in excellent working condition and comply with safety standards
• Assist with duties around the lodge and reserve as needed

Requirements

• Minimum FGASA NQF2 qualification
• Backup/Apprentice Trails qualification, with the intention of attaining Lead Trails
• Rifle competency
• Valid First Aid certification
• Previous guiding experience in a Big Five reserve environment
• Strong knowledge of bushveld ecology, wildlife behaviour, and tracking
• Excellent guest interaction and interpretation skills
