Job Summary

The Purpose of the Role: To perform repairs and maintenance on moulds and manufacture and repair engineering components and other related items. Role: Tool Maker Location: Isando – Johannesburg Qualification: Secondary Education Grade 12 Minimum N2 Tertiary Education (including Diplomas, Certificates and Degrees) Trade Test Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA) Experience Minimum 10 years experience within the manufacturing industry in the position of Toolmaker and with extensive knowledge of Toolroom Equipment. Competencies Knowledge Skills Sound understanding of drawings. Sound knowledge on Lathe & milling machines, surface grinders Fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing. Sound knowledge on H & S and safe working procedures. Technical knowledge of plastics processing Problem solving skills. Installation of parts & related equipment. Fault finding and problem solving. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to act decisively and urgently. High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Other Special Requirements Extrusion Blow moulding and Injection & stretch blow moulding machines Decision Making Able to make good business aligned judgement decisions at an operational level whilst maintaining maintenance standards, practices & procedures in line with defined and communicated authority and as per instructions. Accountability Responsible for all activities linked to position as defined. Ensure escalation to the appropriate level of authority. Job Summary

Location :Isando Responsibilities: Operate Toolroom & Related Equipment: Operate all Toolroom machinery in an efficient, cost effective and safe way. Use Toolroom machinery in the production and maintenance of: Moulds. Related components. Other parts required by the company. Manufacture and Repair of Moulds and Related Components: Manufacture and repair moulds and related componentry with accuracy and precision from interpreted drawings. Manufacture machine components as per plant requirements. Carry out fault finding and trouble shooting on moulds and related componentry. Liaise with Management regarding any discrepancies in production or in performing allocated tasks. Set up and work to schedules that prioritize company commitments as determined by Management. Keep Toolroom equipment, workspaces and facilities neat, organized, healthy and safe at all times. Assess the condition of tooling returning from production and trigger works orders as needed. . Reporting and Administration: Report as per performance standard and deadline. Be responsible for the machine shop and its content. Keep stock of various machining and cutting tools and maintain in a good functioning order. Health and Safety Ensure and enforce that aspects in area of responsibility conform to health and safety requirements. Maintain housekeeping standards in area of responsibility (e.g. ensure cleanliness assigned machines and areas). Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues. Report any accidents, incidents and near misses. Quality Apply the companys quality principles and standards. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) Food safety standards are site specific and at these sites employees should: Apply the sites food safety principles and standards. Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager. Comply to and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the Companys FSMS (Food Safety Management System). Self-development and Growth Realistic assessment of own strengths and development areas and undertake actions to address weaknesses. Keep abreast of innovation and technical improvements for further self-development and the development of the company. Teamwork and co-operation. Self-Management. Leadership and interpersonal relationship. Product and service quality. General Ensure team knows what to do and where to find information if you are not available. Inform yourself about and apply the company’s principles and standards. Set an example, be a role model for your team and others in the way you work and behave. Requirements: Clear Criminal Record Grade 12 Trade Test Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA)Minimum N2.
