Job Summary

Company and Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Project & Engineering Department Manager to lead our client’s multidisciplinary teams across high-impact initiatives. If you’re driven by technical excellence, safety leadership, and strategic delivery — we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:

Projects Leadership

Manage full project lifecycles — from scope definition through to post-project reviews.
Ensure delivery within schedule, budget, scope, and safety parameters.
Lead monthly reviews and liaise with finance for robust budget control.
Optimize resource planning, oversee third-party vendors, and monitor performance metrics.
Champion safety culture and compliance with all HSE standards across client sites.

Engineering Oversight

Drive priorities, manage workflow, and ensure engineering outputs meet company and ISO standards.
Final sign-off on drawings, scopes, quality control plans, and NCR investigations.

People & Performance

Lead and mentor both departments with goal-setting, reviews, training, and talent development.
Coordinate site access for staff and subcontractors.

Strategy & Growth

Collaborate on technical audits and support the marketing of products and services.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng – preferred)
PMP certification highly desirable
5–10+ years of project and engineering management experience
Strong grasp of budgeting, compliance, and risk management
Bonus points for experience in aluminium smelters or similar environments
