This role requires an individual with exceptional organizational and people-management skills, ensuring the seamless running of camp operations while delivering unforgettable guest experiences in a unique natural setting.</p><hr><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>The <strong>Camp Manager</strong> is responsible for the overall management of the camp, including guest services, staff supervision, logistics, maintenance, financial controls, and operational efficiency. The role combines hospitality management with conservation values, demanding both leadership and a hands-on approach to ensure guests enjoy an authentic and memorable safari experience.</p><hr><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Operations & Administration</strong></p><ul><li><p>Oversee all day-to-day camp operations, ensuring smooth functionality across departments.</p></li><li><p>Supervise and manage the following teams: Food & Beverage, Reception, Guiding, Housekeeping, Grounds, and Maintenance.</p></li><li><p>Implement and maintain service standards, SOPs, and house rules consistently.</p></li><li><p>Manage staff rosters, contracts, grooming standards, and leave approvals.</p></li><li><p>Oversee weekly purchasing, stock control, deliveries, and monthly inventories.</p></li><li><p>Ensure correct cash-ups, banking, and financial reporting.</p></li><li><p>Prepare monthly operational and management reports.</p></li><li><p>Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across the property.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Guest Relations & Service Excellence</strong></p><ul><li><p>Personally welcome and engage with guests, ensuring an exceptional experience throughout their stay.</p></li><li><p>Be present during service hours to ensure extraordinary guest service (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner).</p></li><li><p>Assist with guest check-ins, room orientation, and handling of special requests.</p></li><li><p>Liaise with tour groups and handle VIP guest requirements with discretion.</p></li><li><p>Proactively handle guest complaints, ensuring effective resolution and follow-up.</p></li><li><p>Promote and assist with in-house activities, excursions, and conservation programs.</p></li><li><p>Encourage guest feedback through surveys and direct interactions.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Financial & Human Resources Management</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ensure accurate revenue collection, billing, and financial accountability.</p></li><li><p>Control costs of sales, monitor variances, and investigate discrepancies.</p></li><li><p>Conduct bi-monthly and monthly stock takes for F&B, equipment, and consumables.</p></li><li><p>Train, coach, and mentor staff through continuous on-the-job training and formal development initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Conduct weekly staff meetings, monthly appraisals, and performance management.</p></li><li><p>Foster positive staff morale through leadership, fair conflict resolution, and team-building activities.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Health, Safety & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ensure all areas meet health, safety, and hygiene regulations.</p></li><li><p>Lead emergency responses, including fire safety, evacuations, and first aid.</p></li><li><p>Maintain maximum security across all camp facilities.</p></li><li><p>Drive environmental awareness and conservation-aligned practices in daily operations.</p></li></ul><hr><p><strong>Candidate Profile</strong></p><p><strong>Skills & Attributes</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong leadership with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.</p></li><li><p>Excellent business acumen and financial management skills.</p></li><li><p>High-level interpersonal and communication abilities.</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational and time-management skills.</p></li><li><p>Customer-centric, with the ability to enhance guest experiences.</p></li><li><p>Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.</p></li><li><p>Problem-solver with effective decision-making abilities.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><ul><li><p>High school diploma required; a hospitality or business management qualification is advantageous.</p></li><li><p>23 years of camp, lodge, or hospitality management experience essential.</p></li><li><p>Proven track record in guest services and hospitality operations.</p></li><li><p>Previous experience in wildlife or conservation environments is highly desirable.</p></li><li><p>Strong computer literacy (including MS Office / hospitality systems).</p></li></ul><hr><p><strong>What my client offers</strong></p><ul><li><p>Salary R25000 – R 30000 pm Negotiable</p></li><li><p>Live In Accommodation provided (single Status)</p></li><li><p>Company Vehicle – Transport</p></li><li><p>Cell phone allowance</p></li><li><p>Medical Aid provided</p></li><li><p>The opportunity to live and work in a pristine conservation environment.</p></li><li><p>A leadership role that blends hospitality excellence with wildlife and nature.</p></li><li><p>Competitive remuneration package, commensurate with experience.</p></li></ul><p>The chance to make a tangible impact on guest experiences and conservation-driven tourism in Eswatini.</p>
