Job Description

Job Purpose: The Quality Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all scaffolding, formwork, and construction activities comply with company standards, client specifications, and industry regulations. This role is key to maintaining high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across all projects. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and inspect construction, scaffolding, and formwork activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications. Conduct site inspections and audits, identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and client quality requirements. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and method statements to confirm accurate implementation on site. Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation. Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Safety Officers to drive quality awareness. Assist in developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures. Conduct toolbox talks, training, and awareness sessions on quality standards and best practices. Ensure all scaffolding and formwork equipment meet the companys safety and quality criteria before use. Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams regarding quality issues and resolutions. Prepare and submit quality-related reports for management review. Qualifications & Experience: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (essential). Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction, Quality Management (advantageous). Minimum of 35 years experience in quality control/inspection within the construction industry. Experience in scaffolding, formwork, or access solutions will be a strong advantage. Knowledge of ISO 9001, OHS Act, and construction quality standards. Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications. Skills & Competencies: Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and report-writing abilities. Ability to enforce quality standards while maintaining good working relationships. Proactive, organized, and able to work independently under pressure. Strong understanding of health & safety requirements in construction.
