A distinguished establishment in the Foreshore area of Cape Town is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie (CDP) to join its kitchen brigade. This role offers an excellent platform for a motivated chef to take responsibility for a section of the kitchen and ensure high-quality dishes are consistently delivered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take charge of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are prepared to specification

• Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to recipes and quality standards

• Assist in the development and training of junior chefs in the section

• Ensure mise-en-place is completed ahead of each service

• Monitor portion control, consistency, and presentation standards

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the section

• Assist with stock management, rotation, and wastage control

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service

• Uphold all food safety and hygiene regulations within the kitchen environment

• Report maintenance and equipment issues promptly

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a CDP in a professional kitchen environment

• Culinary qualification advantageous

• Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations

• Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-pressure service times

• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• High standards of personal hygiene and presentation
